The area arrangement on Jalan Karet Karya, RT 09/05, Karet Urban Village, Setiabudi District, South Jakarta is being accelerated. Now the progress has reached 70 percent.

Head Section of Government for Karet Urban Village, Akbar Bayu said this location was chosen because previously it had a poorly organized environment, looked dirty, was a gathering place for garbage carts, and was often used as an illegal parking location.

"The arrangement is carried out by creating educational murals and gardens so that the area becomes tidier and more comfortable to look at," he said, Monday (5/4).

Akbar explained that the murals covered a 80-square-meter area. The murals served not only as decoration but also contained messages urging residents to maintain cleanliness, prevent brawls, and prohibit illegal parking.

The area will also be developed into a park to support food security programs. Productive crops will be planted here, the yields of which can be utilized by residents, as well as ornamental plants to beautify the environment.

"As many as 10 to 15 PPSU officers were deployed to carry out work according to the zoning schedule," he added.

According to him, the arrangement has reached 70 percent completion. Now, the only remaining steps are the murals and the plant boxes.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Achmad Burhanuddin appreciated the area's arrangement.

"The arrangement of this location is already excellent. We hope this area will continue to be maintained so it doesn't become dirty or damaged again," he hoped.
